Plan People and Gear Loads Before Ordering
A useful load plan names everything carried and where it belongs. The published person rating is only part of the information needed to select a boat configuration.

Build an itemized mass list
Include every person, clothing and personal equipment, motor, battery or fuel, anchors if applicable, and supplies. Separate items already included in a supplier weight figure so they are not counted twice. Record the assumptions rather than guessing one combined number.
Read the exact model documents
Ask the manufacturer what the stated load figure includes and confirm it for the selected floor and fit-out. Check person, mass and propulsion limits together. A larger engine option or extra console does not automatically increase permitted load.
Place the load on a drawing
Show seating and secured equipment locations using the manufacturer instructions. Check access to controls, valves and safety items. A total below a limit does not establish suitable distribution or enough usable space for the planned task.
Review real operating constraints
Tell the supplier about water conditions, launch method and the work expected aboard. Seek qualified operational advice where needed. Before approving an order, have the proposed loaded configuration reviewed rather than treating unused numerical capacity as a safety guarantee.
Procurement checklist
- List every carried item once.
- Confirm what the model load figure includes.
- Review distribution and access on a drawing.
Frequently asked questions
Can I multiply person rating by an assumed adult weight?
Use the documented limits and definitions for the model; do not substitute an invented conversion.
Is being below maximum load enough?
No. Distribution, usable space, conditions and the manufacturer operating instructions also matter.
