Beam, not length, is what you fish from
A pontoon or catamaran platform is bought for the deck between the tubes, and that is a beam measurement. The published catamaran range makes the trade explicit: CAT300 and CAT330 both sit on a 163 cm beam, CAT380 and CAT400 on 183 cm. Twenty centimetres does not sound like much until someone is standing off-centre with a rod, which is the load a fishing platform actually sees.
Compare candidates on beam and on rated persons together. CAT330 is 330 cm and 4 persons; CAT400 is 400 cm and 6 persons on the wider beam. If the boat is for two anglers who both want to stand, the useful figure is the 183 cm beam, not the extra 70 cm of length.
The airmat and the RIB catamaran are different boats
CAT380 appears twice in the programme. One is 380 cm on a 183 cm beam with an airmat and EVA floor, rated 15 hp and 5 persons. The other is the same 380 cm and the same beam built as a RIB catamaran hull, rated 25 hp and 6 persons. Same name, ten more horsepower, one more person, and a completely different construction underneath.
The airmat version packs down and is the one to specify if the boat travels in a car and is inflated at the bank. The RIB catamaran holds its shape under power and in shallow chop, and is the one to specify if the platform is trailered and fished from all day. A quote that says only "CAT380" has not answered which.
Two rows in the table are deliberately incomplete
CAT280 and CAT360 publish their length and rated persons but state "confirm by RFQ" for beam and maximum horsepower. That is not an omission to work around — it means those two configurations vary, and a supplier who quotes them with firm numbers without asking about your use has filled the gap with an assumption rather than a specification.
If either is the size you want, put the beam and the intended motor into the enquiry yourself and require both back in writing. It is the cheapest possible way to find out whether the reply is coming from the factory sheet or from a sales estimate.
What a fishing platform quote should itemise
Rod holders, seats, anchors, a pump and a fish finder mount are quoted separately far more often than buyers expect, and on a platform boat they are most of the difference between two prices. Ask for the complete carton contents rather than the boat specification, and ask what the boat weighs without them.
For the deck itself, ask whether the EVA is bonded to the airmat or supplied as a loose mat, and how the floor is retained under load. That single answer separates a platform you can fish from standing from one that is a raft with a mat on it.
