Review Material Documents for a Boat Order
A material document is relevant only when its identity and scope match the claim being made. Review the full report before using a logo or summary as purchasing evidence.

Identify the claim first
Write the property or requirement the supplier says the document supports. Ask for the complete report and the issuing organization details. A test on fabric, a component approval and a finished-boat assessment answer different questions and should not be treated as equivalent.
Read the sample description
Check product name, material identifier, sample source, report date and any stated limitations. Compare those details with the order specification. If the sample is unnamed or describes a different variant, request an explanation linking it to the proposed materials.
Check the issuer and exact accreditation scope
Use the ILAC signatory search to locate the accreditation body, then its official laboratory directory. Match laboratory identity, site and the relevant test method or scope. Verify report questions with the issuer through independently checked contacts. A directory entry is not product certification, batch acceptance or proof that every result is within scope.
Complete a register for each report
Copy the form for each report and fill in identifiers rather than ticking a generic certified box. Date the unresolved question, reviewer and accept-or-hold decision. When material, batch or method changes, check whether the existing evidence still applies instead of carrying approval to a different construction.

Frequently asked questions
Does a test report certify every finished boat?
No. Apply only the scope stated in the document and obtain relevant finished-product evidence where required.
Is the newest date automatically the best evidence?
Identity, method, scope and applicability matter alongside date; a recent unrelated report does not answer the claim.
